Apply to dress The Great Malvern Cake Off Stage!

Are you a passionate creative that is looking for a new challenge to showcase your stage dressing and interior design talent?

We’re on the look-out for someone who can inject some added brilliance into The Great Malvern Cake Off Theatre stage:

Malvern Autumn Show is one of the UK’s biggest annual harvest season celebrations, featuring the showstopping CANNA UK Giant Vegetables Championships (which each year sees new Guinness World Records set for spectacularly large crops), NEW The Great Malvern Cake Off Theatre & Competition, the prestigious RHS Flower Show with Garden Theatre within, over 100 different Grow to Show classes to see in the Harvest Pavilion, plus barrows full of family fun and epicurean delights.

About the Stage

New for 2024, The Great Malvern Cake Off Theatre will host well-known faces from previous series of BBC and Channel 4’s The Great British Bake Off, including 2018 competitor, Briony May Williams and  2021 winner, Giuseppe Dell’Anno.

Talks and demonstrations will be held within the theatre all 3 days from previous Great British Bake-Off contestants, as well as nationally and locally recognised bakers and other celebrities. Sessions will be a variety of cake & dessert baking demonstrations, fun ‘race against the clock’ style cake decorating challenges and Q&A sessions.

Important information

A celebration of baking: inspired by the much loved Chanel 4 programme, we’d love to see cookware props, vintage crockery, bunting & gingham all used within the dressing choices to set the scene.

Build-up begins from 9:00am Tuesday 24 September and must be complete by 7pm Thursday 26 September.

Breakdown can begin at 6:15pm Sunday 29 September and must be cleared by midday . The Showground does not accept responsibility for items used in set dressing.

Exhibitors must remove or put in the bins on site all items brought onsite, including rubbish and building materials etc.

How to apply

We’re asking all those eager to apply to submit their design proposals to Charlie Gwynne, Shows & Horticulture Executive: charlie.gwynne@threecounties.co.uk

This should include:

  • Proposed furniture & prop choices
  • A sketch/mood board of your design
  • Plan of the space with dimensions (this can be hand drawn)
